Brehmer Finishes 28th at NCAA Zones in 3M Prelims

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Senior diver Jake Brehmer competed in his first-career NCAA Zone Championship Thurs., Mar. 13 where he finished in 28th place in the 3-meter preliminaries. Brehmer is the first Ball State male diver to compete in the post season since the 2006-07 season.
Brehmer finished in 28th place after earning a score of 261.00. The senior was the fourth-highest finisher from the Mid-American Conference at the event.
Brehmer started off the competition with a forward 2 ½ somersault pike that scored a 39.60. The Valparaiso, Ind., native followed that dive up with a forward 3 ½ somersault tuck that earned a 37.80. Brehmer's back 2 ½ somersault pike and reverse 2 ½ somersault tuck earned him scores of 39.00 and 33.60, respectively. Brehmer's largest score came off an inward 2 ½ somersault pike with a 60.00. The senior would follow that up with a score of 51.00 on a forward 2 ½ somersault one twist pike.
Indiana's Darian Schmidt won the 3-meter event with a combined score of 794.20.
