Brehmer Finishes 35th on 1M at NCAA Zones

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ball State senior diver Jake Brehmer finished the 2014 NCAA Zone Championship with a 35th place finish in the 1-meter preliminaries with a score of 245.25. The senior was the first male diver from Ball State to compete at the NCAA Zone Championships since the 2006-07 season.
Brehmer started off the competition with a score of 48.10 on a forward 2 ½ somersault pike. Brehmer followed that dive up with a back 1 ½ somersault pike and reverse 1 ½ somersault pike that scored 33.35 and 39.60, respectively. Brehmer's inward 1 ½ somersault pike earned a 43.20 while his inward 1 ½ somersault tuck earned a 40.30. The senior finished with a score of 40.70 on a forward 1 ½ somersault one twist free.
Indiana University's Emad Abdelatif won the 1-meter event with a combined score of 685.25.
