Men?s Golf Alum Maurer Again Reaches Q School Finals

Ball State men's golf alum Brian Maurer has advanced to the final stage of Web.com Tour Q School for the second consecutive year. In so doing, he has once again locked up some level of status on the tour next year.
Maurer will play for full-time status at the Q School finals, set for Dec. 11-16 in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.
The Richmond native advanced through the second stage Friday in McKinney, Texas. He shot a 7-under par final round of 65 to make a big move into a tie for 17th place. The top 18 and ties advanced.
Maurer finished with a total of 285 (-3) over four rounds in chilly temperatures at TPC Craig Ranch.
"My job isn't done," Maurer told the Richmond Palladium-Item. "This past year I had a part-time job. I'm going down to Florida to get a full-time job next year."
Maurer has played professionally since completing his Ball State career in 2009. He was an All-Mid-American Conference First Team selection and the Cardinals' Most Valuable Player as a senior.
