BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Ball State soccer players Leah Mattingly and Elaina Musleh were named to the Mid-American Conference All-Tournament Team over the weekend.
The pair helped the Cardinals reach the league semifinals for the second year in a row before falling to eventual champion Buffalo. The top-seeded Bulls went on to defeat Western Michigan in Sunday's championship game.
Musleh, a junior from Carmel, Ind., recorded all three of Ball State's goals in tournament play, including two in the Cardinals' semifinal win over Kent State. She scored to tie Friday's semifinal contest in the second half before Buffalo won it late in the second overtime.
Mattingly, a sophomore from Floyds Knobs, Ind., helped to anchor a Ball State defensive unit that shut out Kent State in the Cardinals' tournament opener. The All-MAC Second Team performer also helped Ball State limit Buffalo to one goal in regulation during the semifinal game.
The Cardinals finished the season with an 11-7-2 record, reaching the 11-win mark back-to-back seasons for the first time since 2006-07.
