Soccer Visits Ohio Friday, Kent State Sunday
October 09, 2014 | Soccer
The Ball State soccer team heads back out on the road for a pair of contests against the Mid-American Conference East Division this weekend.
The Cardinals visit the Ohio Bobcats at 4 p.m. Friday and then head to Kent State to take on the Golden Flashes at 1 p.m. Sunday.
Ball State (6-3-2, 2-2 MAC) remains the league's top scoring team with 20 goals on the season, one more than Kent State and Miami University. The Cardinals split two league games last weekend with a win over Central Michigan and a loss to Toledo.
It is a tight race in the MAC standings after two weekends of conference play with Buffalo (4-0) and NIU (3-0-1) as the only teams without a loss in league action.
As a display of the parity that exists within the league, both of this weekend's opponents recently registered road wins against defending MAC Tournament champion Western Michigan. Ohio topped the Broncos, 1-0, and Kent State handed them a 3-1 defeat.
Ohio enters Friday's game with Ball State at 5-7 (2-2 MAC). Kent State is 7-3-2 (2-1-1 MAC) and will host Miami on Friday before the Cardinals visit on Sunday.
