Men?s Golf to Close Fall Season at Old Corkscrew

For the second straight tournament, the Ball State men's golf team will square off with a team ranked No. 1 in the country.
The Cardinals will wrap up their fall schedule with the FGCU Classic at Old Corkscrew Golf Club, starting Monday in Estero, Fla. Florida State, which sits atop the Golfstat national rankings, joins Ball State in the 14-team field.
Ball State's lineup for the FGCU Classic will feature McCormick Clouser, Michael VanDeventer, Johnny Watts, Zach Yinger and James Blackwell.
The tournament begins with 36 holes Monday and concludes with the final 18 holes Tuesday.
The full field includes Arkansas State, Ball State, Bethune-Cookman, Florida Atlantic, FGCU, Florida, Florida State, Loyola (Md.), Miami University, Murray State, Ohio, Saint Mary's, St. John's and Stetson.
It is the second straight event Ball State will play on a Jack Nicklaus-designed course. The Cardinals hosted the Sagamore Fall Preview two weeks ago at The Sagamore Club in Noblesville, Ind. Illinois, which is No. 1 in the Golfweek rankings, won that tournament.
