MUNCIE, Ind. -- Ball State soccer coach Craig Roberts was in Washington, D.C., Monday night to coach with the Haiti Women's National Team against the United States Women's National Team.
The game, which was part of World Cup qualifying, was played at RFK Stadium and televised by Fox Sports 1.
“One of the foundations of our program is to challenge yourself and push yourself to be better,” Roberts said before the game. “This is a chance to coach against some of the best players in the world in a wonderful environment."
Named an assistant for Haiti during the spring by head coach Shek Borkowski, Roberts worked with the team on various occasions throughout the summer.
Roberts was with his Ball State team for a Monday morning practice and then flew to Washington, D.C., for the game. He will be back for the Cardinals' next practice Tuesday afternoon.
Ball State is coming off a pair of key Mid-American Conference wins over the weekend and stands at 9-4-2 (5-3 MAC). The Cardinals are back in action next weekend with road games at Buffalo and Akron.
