Women?s Golf Claims No. 7 Seed for Match Play

NOBLESVILLE, Ind. -- The Ball State women's golf team carded a 317 in Friday's opening round at the Hoosier Fall Invitational. The Cardinals earned the No. 7 seed in the match-play portion of the tournament, which begins Saturday at Purgatory Golf Club.
Ball State will meet No. 2 seed Eastern Michigan (300 in round one) in the first of two rounds Saturday. The other match in the Cardinals' half of the bracket features No. 4 seed Fresno State (303) and No. 5 seed Illinois State (315).
On the other side of the bracket, No. 1 seed Indiana (299) will play No. 8 seed NIU (319) and No. 3 seed Illinois (302) will take on No. 6 seed Boston College (316).
Jenna Hague led Ball State in Friday's round with a 2-over par 74, tying for the fifth best score of the day. The Cardinals also counted a 79 from Allison Lindley, an 80 from Morgan Nadaline and an 84 from Kelsey Sear.
Ball State and Eastern Michigan will start their match at 8:30 a.m. Saturday. The second round of match play will be contested Saturday afternoon with the final round to be played Sunday. All teams are guaranteed three matches. Live scoring is available at birdiefire.com.
