Women's Tennis Finishes Day Two at Wake Forest

SALEM, N.C. - The Ball State women's tennis team finished day two's competition at the Wake Forest Invitational Saturday afternoon.
In singles action, Courtney Wild won her consolation match in the flight A bracket, after taking down Clare Cox, 7-5, 6-1. Courtney Earnest took down Davidson's Laina Cummer in straight sets 6-1, 6-0, in the flight B semifinals, she will now face Diana Bukajeva of Stetson in the finals which will be played on Sunday. Kristel Sanders also advanced to the semifinals in her respective flight but lost 6-4, 6-2 to Elon's Barbora Lazarova.
In flight A doubles, Bethany Moore and Kristel Sanders won two consolation matches. In fligth B doubles, Wild and Ashlyn Rang paired up to play in the semifinals but lost to host Wake Forest's twosome of Kimmy Guerin and Andrea Retolaza by a score of 8-7 (5).
The Ball State women's tennis team will end play at the Wake Forest Fall Invitational Sunday afternoon at the Wake Forest Tennis Complex. The Cardinals will then take a week off before competing at the ITA Ohio Valley Regional in Memphis, Tenn., Friday, Oct. 18.
