
Women's Tennis Suffers 5-2 Loss to EMU

MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State women's tennis team (12-9, 3-2 MAC) suffered a 5-2 loss to Eastern Michigan in Mid-American Conference action Saturday afternoon at the Cardinal Creek Tennis Center.
The Cardinals fell behind early to the Eagles 1-0 after losing the doubles point. Kristel Sanders and Bethany Moore captured an 8-3 win over Ankita Bhatia and Mariya Toncheva. With the win Sanders and Moore remained 5-0 in league play.
In singles action, Courtney Wild improved to 5-0 at No. 1 singles after pulling off the 6-0, 7-6 (7-2) over Klara Supejova. Sanders also improved to 5-0 in the MAC after defeating Daphne Friedrichs in three sets at the No. 4 position. Sanders won the first set and lost the second set but managed to take the match in the third 7-6 (7-2).
The Ball State women's tennis team continues Mid-American Conference action Friday at Bowling Green. The match will begin at 1 p.m.
