Autumn Duke Named MAC Golfer of the Week

MUNCIE, Ind. -- Ball State senior Autumn Duke was selected Thursday as the Mid-American Conference Women's Golfer of the Week.
Duke placed 18th out of 64 golfers earlier this week to lead Ball State in its spring season opener at the Jim West Challenge in Blanco, Texas.
The Fishers, Ind., product improved in every round, finishing with a 54-hole total of 239 (83-79-77) on a par-72, 6,216-yard layout at Vaaler Creek Golf Club.
She helped the Cardinals to a sixth-place result in a 12-team field, finishing just two strokes out of fourth place. The tournament included four teams ranked among the nation's top 100.
Duke recorded five birdies in the second round alone and then used a steady closing 18 holes to climb seven spots on the final leaderboard into 18th place.
The Cardinals are now off until March 8-10 when they return to action at the Rio Verde Collegiate Invitational hosted by Western Michigan in Rio Verde, Ariz.
