Tyler Merkel Ties for Second at Indiana Open

Tyler Merkel, who will be a junior on the 2012-13 Ball State men's golf team, tied for second at the Indiana Open Championship at French Lick Springs Resort.
Merkel tallied a 71-72-69-73=285 to finish two strokes behind champion Stephan Conrad. Merkel tied for second with Muncie native and Indiana University alum Chase Wright.
Ball State alum Rusty Mason tied for 10th with a 291, while former Cardinals player C.D. Hockersmith tied for 13th with a 292. Andrew Rhodes, a 2009 graduate of Ball State, tied for 17th with a 293, along with former Ball Sate Eric Steger.
Tony Lazzara, who will be a senior for the Ball State golf team this fall, tallied a 71-75-76-73=295 to tie for 27th.
