Men's Golf Finishes Fourth at Rain Shortened MAC

Ball State's men's golf team finished in fourth place of the rain shortened Mid-American Conference Championships at Rich Harvest Farms Golf Course in Sugar Grove, Ill.
The fourth and final round was delayed a number of times before finally cancelled due to lightning and inclement weather. The MAC Championships by league rule revert to the standings after three rounds.
The Cardinals tallied a third round 292, which was the fourth best round of the day, to move into fourth place. Ball State's 303-304-292=899 finishes three strokes behind Ohio and four strokes from second place Eastern Michigan. Kent State won the event with a 283-281-291=855.
Joe Gasser was Ball State's top individual with a 74-75-72=221, which placed him in a tie for 10th. Brodie Williams tied for 13th after posting a 75-75-73=223.
Tony Lazzara tied for 24th with a 79-77-72=228 and Tyler Merkel tied for 28th with a 78-77-75=230. TJ Carpenter tied for 33rd after carding a 76-79-78=233.
