
Women's Tennis Ends Season With Loss to Miami

DEKALB, Ill. - The No. 9 Ball State women's tennis team (7-16) ended its 2012 season with a 4-0 loss to No. 1 Miami, Friday afternoon in the first round of the Mid-American Conference Tournament hosted by Northern Illinois.
Miami took the early 1-0 edge over Ball State after claiming the doubles point. The RedHawks won first at No. 3 doubles after posting a 8-3 defeat over Lauren Pickerel and Dena Boulieris. On court one the freshmen duo of Courtney Wild and Ashlyn Range fell to Stephanie Danesis and Christine Guerrazzi by a score of 8-3.
In singles action, senior Kylee Johnson fell 6-2, 6-1 to Nimisha Mohan at the No. 3 spot to give Miami the 2-0 advantage over the Cardinals. Wild was the lone Cardinal to win her first set at No. 1 singles but Ball State would lose on courts five and two which resulted in the RedHawks victory.
