
Men's Golf Places Third at Own EY Invitational

Ball State's men's golf team finished third out of 15 teams at its own Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational at Delaware Country Club in Muncie, Ind.
Louisville won the event with a 362-355-373=1090 in the play six count five tournament. Austin Peay was second with a 1100, while Ball State managed a 374-364-375=1113.
Tyler Merkel finished seventh with a 69-71-76=216, while Brodie Williams was eighth with a 72-71-74=217.
Joe Gasser tied for 20th after carding a 78-74-72=224, Tony Lazzara managed an 83-74-74=231 to tie for 43rd. Alex Stinson tied for 46th with a 78-74-80=232 and Connor O'Neal managed a 77-81-79=237.
TJ Carpenter tied for 28th while competing as an individual with an 80-72-74=226. Zach Yinger tied for 39th as an individual with a 77-75-77=229. Zac Treash, who was disqualified in the second round, managed an 80 in the first round and a 79 in round three.
