MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State soccer team is off to a strong start to its 2012 spring season posting a 3-0-1 record in its first two weekends, including three wins over instate foes IPFW, Indiana State and IUPUI.
"All our players have shown positive development in all areas," head coach Craig Roberts said. "We have targeted certain aspects of our game and I'm very pleased with the progress. The players have had a great attitude and mentality towards what needs to be done to elevate our game to the next level. We have beat reputable opponents this spring and look forward to continuing this as the season progresses."
The Cardinals opened the spring season at the Briner Sports Complex with a 2-0 victory over the Mastodons. Junior midfielder Kelsey Shapiro (Farmington Hills, Mich./North Farmington) opened the scoring with a header off a corner kick.
