MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State women's swimming & diving team ended its 2011-12 dual meet schedule with a 143-100 setback to Notre Dame Saturday afternoon at Lewellen Aquatic Center.
Ball State ends its dual meet schedule with an 8-3 record, not including two first-place performances at the IUPUI House of Champions (831) and the Doug Coers Invitational (734).
The Cardinals scored victories in four of the 13 events, with BSU scoring five runner-up efforts.
Sophomore swimmer Bridgette Ruehl (Lowell, Ind./Lowell) combined with senior Nicole Saulters (Highland, Ind./Highland), sophomore Haley Richter (Roanoke, Ind./Columbia City) and freshman Carlena Magley (Waterloo, Ind./DeKalb) to open the meet with a victory in the 200 medley relay, clocking in at 1:46.27.
Richter then returned in the 100 fly to record a win with a time of 55.88 and Ruehl tallied a first-place finish in the 100 breast (1:05.26).
Another individual scoring a win for the Cardinals was senior diver Christina Riordan (Homewood, Ill./Homewood Flossmoor) with a first-place performance on the 3-meter board (296.77).
Next up for Ball State is the 2012 MAC Women's Swimming & Diving Championships in Akron, Ohio at Oliver J. Ocasek Natatorium Feb. 23-25.
