“The women's swimming and diving team had a tremendous championship meet. In the early fall our team set out to accomplish several team and individual goals and I truly feel that we accomplished all of those and more,” head coach Laura Seibold-Caudill said. “We set 11 new Ball State school records and came within tenths of a second to several more. We had lifetime-best performances from nearly every team member this past weekend, which led to more than 65 more points scored than last year as we moved up two places in the team scoring.”

In the 100 free preliminaries and finals, sophomore Haley Richter added two 12th-place performances (51.09 and 51.10), good for the second-best and third-best individual times in program history.
Junior Katelyn Pratt-Collins (Greenville, Ohio/Greenville) posted a record in the 200 back with a 13th-place finish (2:01.93), while freshman Kayla Hussey (Goshen, Ind./Goshen) added a ninth-place performance and second-best individual time in program history in the 1650 free with a time of 16:59.08.
“I was incredibly proud of our ladies and all that they did this weekend both as individual performances and as a team as all year we worked very close together as a team and emphasized the importance of 'team' which I felt was the key to our success this weekend,” Seibold-Caudill said. “I was so very proud of every team member this weekend and all that they have accomplished at the meet as well as all year long. More importantly, I was so very proud of how these ladies how they pulled together as a team and represented Ball State and Ball State Swimming and Diving. As a coach, I set a goal for this team to make this year the best ever and I truly feel that they did just that.”
The Cardinals concluded the league meet with the 400 freestyle relay as Richter joined senior Nicole Saulters (Highland, Ind./Highland), freshman Carlena Magley (Waterloo, Ind./DeKalb) and sophomore Emily Wisolek (Middlebury, Ind./Northridge) to clock in at a record-setting time of 3:24.82 for a fourth-place finish .
