October 21, 2012 | Women's Golf
MUNCIE, Ind. -- Coming off its second victory in its past three events, the Ball State women's golf team will travel to California to wrap up the fall portion of its schedule.
The Cardinals will compete Monday and Tuesday at the SCU Colby Invitational hosted by Santa Clara. The 36-hole event features 11 teams and will be played on a par-72, 6,146-yard layout at Silver Creek Valley Country Club in San Jose, Calif.
Ball State and Santa Clara will be joined in the field by Cal Poly, Northern Colorado, Sacramento State, Cal State Northridge, UC Riverside, Seattle, Montana State, Cal State Bakersfield and IUPUI.
The Cardinals' lineup for the tournament will feature junior Meghan Perry, senior Zoe Camus, sophomore Jenna Hague, senior Autumn Duke and senior Sarah Westaway.
Perry, the reigning Mid-American Conference Women's Golfer of the Week, earned medalist honors to lead Ball State to a team title last week at The Preview hosted by Ohio. She was also the team's top finisher in the Cardinals' previous event at Indiana's Hoosier Fall Invitational.
Ball State's victory at The Preview was the team's second this fall. The Cardinals also won their own event, the Cardinal Classic, in September at The Players Club. Hague tied for first at that tournament.
The Colby Invitational gets underway Monday with first-round tee times beginning at 8 a.m. PT. The second round will be played Tuesday.
