Friday marks the 13th Mid-American Conference opener in Ball State history ... The Cardinals are 6-5-1 all-time in league openers, including a 2-3-0 record on the road ... This marks the second straight season that Ball State and Western Michigan have met in the league opener as the Broncos posted a 3-0 victory last year in Muncie ... The Cardinals have dropped three straight MAC openers with their last victory coming in 2007 with a 1-0 victory over Central Michigan.

Ball State ran its unbeaten streak to four straight games with a pair of shutouts last weekend as the Cardinals down Marshall 2-0 and IPFW 1-0 ... The Cardinals opened the weekend with a 2-0 victory at home against the Thundering Herd as they scored two late goals in a span of 1:08 ... Freshman midfielder Ellie Chadick scored her first career goal and the game winning-tally in the 86th minute while classmate Jasmine Moses added her third goal in the 87th minute.
Ball State wrapped up the 2-0-0 weekend on the road with a 1-0 victory over the Mastodons ... Moses struck once again as she scored for the fourth straight game, finding the back of the net in the ninth minute of play.
Junior goalkeeper Aubrey Buehler notched a pair of shutouts on the weekend, posting seven saves in the two victories.

Frances Boukidis leads the team in scoring with two goals and an assist ... Corrin Frankenberg is the only other Husky to score on the season while Kelsey Passaglia has handed out two assists.
In goal, Amy Carr has played the majority of time and has a 1.58 goals against average in 625 minutes ... Carr has posted one shutout and has notched 19 saves.
MAC Weekly Honors . . .
Ball State has claimed two Mid-American Conference weekly honors this season as freshman Pavla Benyrova and junior Brigit Reder have earned MAC Defensive Player of the Week honors this season ... Benyrova picked up the honors for the week of Aug. 29-Sept 4 ... She scored her first career collegiate goal in dramatic fashion against Indiana State, posting the game-winning double-overtime goal to lift the Cardinals to a 2-1 victory.
Reder, the team's captain and defensive leader, took home the honor for the week of Sept 5-11 as she scored nine points in two games and helped the Cardinals' defense hold opponents to just three goals in the tournament ... Reder became just the fourth Cardinal all-time to post a hat trick and the first Ball State defender to accomplish the feat against Lamar as all three of her goals came in the second half ... Her seven points against Lamar are a Ball State single-game record ... She opened the tournament with a goal against host Northern Arizona.
Freshman Stepping Up . . .
Ball State has an 11-member freshman class this season and they have made an impact on the team during the first nine games ... Four different freshmen have scored goals this season, while three freshmen have handed out assists.
Forward Jasmine Moses has scored three goals this season while forward Hannah Chadick, midfielder Ellie Chadick and defender Pavla Benyrova have each found the back of the net this season ... Midfielder Becca Sutton leads the team with four assists while Cailey Starck and E. Chadick has handed out one helper.
Did You Know? . . .
Junior defender Brigit Reder has scored five goals this season ... Reder's five goals are already the most goals scored in a single-season by a Ball State defender ... She also is the highest-scoring defender in the MAC this season.
All-Tournament Honors . . .
Junior defenders Skylar Chew and Brigit Reder along with junior midfielder Maggie Brown earned All-Tournament accolades at the WKU Tournament in the first weekend of the season ... Chew and Reder led the Cardinals to a season-opening shutout while Brown scored two goals in two games to open the season.
