Ball State athletics media relations student assistant Katie Hawkins is producing regular updates from the football team's Fall Camp. Watch "Passing the Mic" featuring tight ends coach and recruiting coordinator Joey Lynch.
Coach Lynch, a 2007 graduate of Ball State, earned four letters at quarterback for the Cardinals. He graduated as one of the most prolific passers in Ball State history after completing 391-of-613 passes for 4,292 yards with 37 touchdowns and a .638 career passing percentage. Lynch completed his career ranked second in Ball State's record book for career passing percentage and tied for first with six games of 250 or more yards passing.
After completing his collegiate career, the son of former Ball State head coach Bill Lynch (1995-2002) was named the offensive coordinator at St. Joseph's College in Indiana. He served as the offensive coordinator at Ashland in 2008 before returning to Ball State in 2009.
The Cardinals will open the 2011 season by hosting Indiana at Lucas Oil Stadium Sept. 3, at 7 p.m.
After a Sept. 10, game at South Florida, the Cardinals will host Buffalo in a Mid-American Conference match up Sept. 17, at Scheumann Stadium.
