Soccer Earns Multiple NSCAA Academic Awards

MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State soccer team, under the guidance of head coach Craig Roberts, earned the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Team Academic Award. Ball State posted a 3.51 team GPA, marking the program's fifth team academic honor in program history and the first since the 2004 campaign
The Cardinals also placed six individuals on the NSCAA Scholar All-Central Region team for the 2010 season, their most selections in program history. Senior forward Missy Gordon (Carmel, Ind./Marshall) becomes just the third Cardinal all-time to earn Scholar All-Central Region First Team honors after posting a 3.56 GPA in special education. Gordon also earned Second Team All-Mid-American Conference honors after finishing second on the team with seven points.
Ball State placed four players on the Scholar All-Central Region Second Team in senior defender Tina Vannatta (Powhatan, Va./Springboro), senior midfielder Cortney Coombs (Cincinnati, Ohio/Colerain), senior forward Jacki Eft (Fishers, Ind./Hamilton Southeastern) and redshirt sophomore Sarah Orisich (Columbus, Ind./Columbus). Redshirt sophomore Abby Milillo (Fairfield, Ohio/Badin) rounded out the Cardinals' honors as she was named Scholar All-Central Region Honorable Mentions.
