Brittany Kelly Plays at NCAA Women's Golf Regional

Brittany Kelly, a senior member of the Ball State women's golf team, became the first female golfer in Ball State history to compete at the NCAA Central Regional.
Kelly played in the NCAA Central Regional, a 54-hole event, at Warren Golf Course in Notre Dame, Ind.
Kelly tied for 63rd in the 126-person field after firing a 79-79-75=233.
Kelly, who has set the Ball State career scoring average record, was one of six individuals chosen for the Central Regional, and one of 18 individuals selected overall.
A 2010 and 2011 All-Mid-American Conference First Team selection, Kelly was also named to the 2010 MAC All-Tournament Team and was a 2009 All-MAC Second-Team selection.
Kelly owns a 76.42 average in her career, which has surpassed the previous school standard of 78.87 by Kirsty O'Connor. Kelly also set the best single season scoring average with a 75.06 as a junior, while her two-year and three-year averages also are school records.
She played in all 11 events for the Cardinals this season and led the team with a 75.30 average. Kelly managed a season low 71 twice in 2010-11, while her 69 at the 2007 MAC Tournament Preview is a career best and ties for the lowest round in Ball State history. She managed eight top-20 and seven top-10 finishes as a senior, including two second-place showings and a ninth place finish at the MAC Championships.
Last summer, Kelly tied for 12th in the Ladies Professional Golf Association Futures Tour 2011 Qualifying Tournament. She shot a 71-69-72-78=290 in the tournament and was the fourth best amateur in the field of 308 players representing 38 nations.
