Women's Golf Finishes 10th at Arizona

Ball State's women's golf team finished 10th in the 17-team Rio Verde Invitational at the Rio Verde Country Club in Arizona.
The Cardinals managed a 323-308-308=939 and defeated Western Michigan (11th tie), Ohio (16th) and Bowling Green (17th) of the Mid-American Conference. Eastern Michigan won the event with a 910 team score, while Akron was sixth and Toledo tied for eighth.
Brittany Kelly tied for second with a 74-75-73=222. Catherine Dolan of Missouri State won the event with a 218, while Kelly tied with three others for second place with a six over par total in the 90-person tournament.
The tie for second was Kelly's fifth top-10 finish of the season and her sixth top-20 showing this year.
Rachael Pruett tied for 45th with an 82-76-80=238, while Katie Windlan managed an 81-81-79=241. Autumn Duke fired an 86-84-76=246, and Chantelle Hefer carded an 87-76-83=246.
Ball State was joined at the event by Akron, Arkansas-Little Rock, Bowling Green, Bradley, Cincinnati, Eastern Michigan, Michigan, Missouri State, Northern Arizona, Ohio, Penn State, Southern Illinois, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Toledo, Western Michigan and Xavier.
The event was being played at the White Wing Course, which plays to a par-72 and plays at 6,317 yards.
The Cardinals will compete at the UNLV Spring Invitational Monday through Wednesday.
