
WBB Suffers 67-49 Setback to Toledo

Ball State's women's basketball team suffered a 67-49 homecourt loss to Mid-American Conference leader Toledo Saturday afternoon. The Cardinals fell to 9-17 overall and 4-9 in MAC, while UT improved to 20-8 and 12-1 in league play.
After tying the game at 10-10 with 12:33 to play in the first half on a jumper by Mercedes Miller, the Cardinals were unable to fend off the Toledo attack.
Toledo built its lead to as large as 22 points with 7:40 remaining in the game.
Ball State was forced into 18 turnovers on the day, but forced the Rockets into 17 for the game. The Cardinals suffered through a poor shooting performance and made only 31 percent of its field goals, and was 0-for-11 from the three point arc.
Ty'Ronda Benning led all scorers in the game with 16 points, while Ebony Jackson and Mercedes Miller added seven apiece for the Cardinals.
Toledo was led by the 15 points apiece from Naama Shafir and Melissa Goodall. Goodall added a game high nine rebounds.
The Ball State University women's basketball team travels to Central Michigan Wednesday for a 7 p.m. tip off at the Rose Center.
