February 17, 2011 | Women's Golf
Rachael Pruett, a senior member of the Ball State women's golf team, has been selected a co-recipient of the Mid-American Conference Golfer of the Week award, which is selected by the league office.
Pruett tied with teammate Brittany Kelly for third at the Claud Jacobs Intercollegiate in Victoria, Texas, Sunday and Monday. Pruett tallied a 78-74-75=227 to tie for third on the par-72 course at the Victoria Country Club. Pruett helped Ball State to a tie for sixth in the 17-team field. The 227 marked her best 54-hole total of the season.
This marks the second time this season Pruett has earned one of the MAC's weekly awards. She was also named the MAC Golfer of the Week after winning the Cardinal Classic in September.
Pruett is second on the team with a 77.94 average, and the tie for third marked her third top-10 and fourth top-20 finish of the season.
The Cardinals will continue their spring schedule March 4-6 at the Rio Verde Collegiate Invitational at the Rio Verde Country Club in Rio Verde, Ariz.
