Women?s Tennis Ends First Day of Fall Invite

MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State University women's tennis team ended its first day of action at its fall invitational Friday afternoon at the Cardinal Creek Tennis Center.
The Cardinals earned a combined record of 19-4 on the day. Ball State had five of its Cardinals advance to the finals which will be played Saturday.
Courtney Wild made it to the finals in the No. 1 singles bracket after her two set defeat over Kayla Tuscany of Wright State. Kristel Sanders swept Maureen Stevens of Dayton in No. 2 singles flight and will play in the finals Saturday. Other Cardinals that will play in their final respective rounds are Kylee Johnson, Ashlyn Rang and Sarah Hebble.
In doubles action Sanders and Wild paired up to win 8-0 over IPFW. The Ball State twosome of Dena Boulieris and Lauren Pickrel posted a 9-8 (7-3) victory over Wright State.
The Ball State women's tennis team will wrap up the fall invitational Saturday at the Cardinal Creek Tennis Center. The first match will begin at 9.am.
