MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State women's tennis coach Christine Bader has announced the hiring of graduate assistant Whitney Wilson to her 2011-12 staff.
"I am thrilled to have Whitney Wilson join our tennis program," said Bader. "I have a lot of respect for her. We were college teammates and doubles partners so it is exciting to now be coaching together at Ball State. Her work ethic, positive energy, and knowledge of the game will help raise the level of each individual on our team."
Wilson earned her bachelor's degree from Michigan State in May of 2011. She lettered all four years in tennis for the Spartans and was Bader's No. 1 doubles partner as a freshman.
At Michigan State, Wilson was the recipient of the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award in 2010. She was voted Most Valuable Player for the Spartans in 2009-10. Wilson managed the most singles wins on the team with 21 during the 2008-09 season. She played at No. 1 doubles at MSU from 2007-10 while being named Most Improved Player in 2008.
Wilson has also spent time as a Tennis Professional at the Wintergreen Resort in Wintergreen, Va., along with working as a Nike Camp Instructor for Michigan State.
