
Field Hockey Drops Contest to MAC Foe Ohio, 9-1

MUNCIE, Ind. – Senior forward Devanny Kuhn (Louisville, Ky./Sacred Heart Academy) scored a goal, but the Ball State field hockey team fell to Mid-American Conference foe Ohio, 9-1, Saturday afternoon at Pruitt Field.
The contest versus the Bobcats marks the beginning of a three-game road swing in Ohio as the Cardinals continue play Sunday versus the Kent State Golden Flashes at 1 p.m. in Kent, Ohio at Murphy-Mellis Field. Ohio outshot Ball State 20-4, and connected on 9-of-14 shots on goal.
With less than two minutes left in the second period at 68:46 mark, Kuhn put Ball State on the board after she scored on a fastbreak past Ohio goalkeeper Brittany Walker. The unassisted goal marked Kuhn's third of the season.
The communication studies major tallied four shots on goal during the contest while goalkeepers Chelsea Mitchell (Stevens, Pa./Cocalico) and Haley Fusting (Louisville, Ky./Sacred Heart Academy) combined for a total of five saves in 70 minutes of action.
Next up for Ball State, head coach Beth Maddox and the team continues their three-game road-swing in Ohio with a contest Sunday versus Kent State at 1 p.m.
