Women?s Tennis Earns First Win of the Season

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Ball State University head women's tennis coach Christine Bader earns first win as head coach when she guided the Cardinals to a 6-1 victory over IUPUI Friday night. The Cardinals improve their overall record to 1-2 on the season.
The Cardinals took the early 1-0 advantage over the Jaguars after winning the doubles point. Kristel Sanders alongside teammate Kylee Johnson earned an 8-4 win over Hullett and Matthews at No. 1 singles. The BSU twosome of Paola Rodriguez and Lauren Pickrel defeated IUPUI' Bays and Maryfield at No. 3.
In singles action Ball State won five of the six mathces to earn the victory. Georgina Thomson, Hayley Hall, Johnson, Sanders and Rodriguez all won their respective matches in two sets.
The Ball State University women's tennis team continues dual action as they head to Dayton Saturday for a 4 p.m. match.
