Men's Tennis Loses at No. 59 Northwestern

EVANSTON, Ill. - The Ball State University men's tennis team opened its season with a 6-1 loss at Big Ten foe No. 59 Northwestern Sunday afternoon at the Combe Tennis Center.
The Cardinals fell behind 1-0 to the Wildcats after dropping the doubles point. Despite losing doubles the Ball State twosome of Andres Monroy and Cliff Morrison captured an 8-2 victory at the No. 2 spot over NU's Tobia Reitz and Raleigh Smith.
Morrison was the lone Cardinals to win in singles play after defeating Spencer Wolf, 7-5, 2-6, 1-0 (10-7) at the No. 3 slot.
The Ball State University men's tennis team will host IPFW and Eastern Illinois in a double header Sunday at the Muncie YMCA Tennis Center. The match versus IPFW will begin at 1 p.m. and the evening competition against Eastern Illinois will start at 6 p.m.
