Women's Golf at Wolverine Invitational

Ball State's women's golf team opened the 2010-11 season at the Wolverine Invitational hosted by the University of Michigan at the UM Golf Course in Ann Arbor, Mich., and finished 15th out of 17 teams.
Brittany Kelly led the Cardinals and tied for 32nd after firing a 74-80-80=234. Rachael Pruett tied for 42nd with a 79-82-76=237, while Katie Windlan shot an 86-82-72=240. Ball State's Autumn Duke scored an 87-83-87=257, while freshman Sarah Westaway managed an 83-87-89=259.
The Cardinals were joined at the event by Augusta State, Campbell, Columbia, Eastern Michigan, Florida International, Indiana, Iowa State, Kennesaw State, Longwood, Michigan, Missouri-Kansas City, Northwestern, Southern Methodist, Toledo, Western Michigan and Xavier.
Kelly, a 2009-10 All-Mid-American Conference First-Team selection, led the Cardinals with a 75.06 average last year. She posted eight top-10 and 10 top-20 finishes a year ago. Pruett was second on the team with a 77.55 average and posted five top-20 showings. Windlan, Ball State's Most Improved Player last season, posted two top-20 finishes in 2009-10. Duke, a sophomore, competed in six tournaments for Ball State last season, while Westaway is a true freshman for the Cardinals.
