Ross Cosat Makes Cut in Golf's Prestigious Southern Amateur

Ross Cosat, a senior member of the 2009-10 Ball State University men's golf team, advanded to the third and final rounds in the prestigious Southern Amateur Championship at Shoal Creek in Birmingham, Ala.

Cosat was one of 168 players competing at the 104th Annual Southern Amateur Championship. He managed a 78-67-76-75 to tie for 61st. He was one of 66 players to advance out the complete field. Cosat's second round 67 tied for the third lowest second round score.

Cosat was second for the Cardinals with a 74.41 average last season as a senior. He was named the Earl Yestingsmeier Student-Athlete Award winner for Ball State after competing in 11 events and managing three top-10 finishes.
