Four Women's Golfers Named All-American Scholars

Four members of the 2009-10 Ball State University women's golf team -- Brittany Kelly, Kirsty O'Connor, Rachael Pruett and Katie Windlan -- have been named National Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholars.
The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 and the student-athletes must have competed in at least 50 percent of the team's competitive rounds during the season.
Kelly, a junior last season, owns a 3.526 GPA on Ball State's 4.0 scale as a sports administration major. She was named to the All-Mid-American Conference Team and the All-MAC Tournament Team last season. Kelly played in all 11 tournaments and led the Cardinals with a 75.06 average. She managed a season best second place finish at the MAC Championships plus placed third at the UNLV Invitational and totalled eight top-10 and 10 top-20 placings in 2010. Kelly was a 2010 Academic All-MAC selection and was selected Ball State's Most Valuable Player last season.
O'Connor managed a 3.853 GPA as a German and French major. The recipient of the MAC's 2010 Sportsmanship Award, this marks the third straight season O'Connor has been named a NGCA All-America Scholar. She competed in all 11 events and tallied two top-20 finishes for the Cardinals. O'Connor was also named to the Academic All-MAC squad last spring after boasting a 79.13 average.
Pruett, who owns a 3.793 GPA as an exercise science major, managed a 77.55 average for the Cardinals in 2009-10 and was an Academic All-MAC and MAC All-Tournament Team selection. This also marks Pruett's third straight selection to the NGCA All-America Scholar Team. Pruett competed in all 11 events for Ball State and managed a season best fifth place finish at the MAC Championships. She posted five top-20 placings last season.
Windlan, Ball State's Most Improved Player in 2009-10, owns a 3.710 GPA as a criminal justice major. She managed an 80.90 average with two top-20 finishes on the season.
