"We are excited to be able to hire a young yet experienced women's tennis coach in Christine Bader," Collins says. "She has proven she can be successful at the NCAA Division I level as a tennis coach and a mentor to young female student-athletes. Coach Bader has a Midwest background as a player and coach, and we are looking forward to her beginning her duties at Ball State."

During her playing career for the Spartans, Bader became only the third player in history to receive All-Big Ten honors twice in her career. As a senior at Michigan State, Bader posted an 18-14 No. 1 singles and doubles record. She was one of three Spartans to earn a national ranking after finishing her senior season ranked 113th in singles.
