Women's Golf Finishes Third at Saluki Invitational

Ball State's women's golf team finished third out of 14 teams at the Saluki Invitational in Carbondale, Ill.
The 36-hole tournament, which was a six player count four scores format, saw Ball State tally a 309 in the second round -- the third best round of the day. The Cardinals managed a 323-309=632 team score, while Indiana State won the event with a 617 and Drake was second at 618.
Brittany Kelly was Ball State's top finisher with a 79-76=155 to tie for sixth in the 93-player field. Kristtini Cain tied for ninth with an 80-76=156, while Rachael Pruett tied for 16th with an 83-76=159. Katie Windlan managed to tie for 22nd with an 82-81=163, and Kirsty O'Connor tied for 24th after carding an 82-82=164.
Autumn Duke managed a 94-91=185, and Chantelle Hefer, who competed as an individual, scored an 89-87=176.
Participating teams include Austin Peay, Ball State, Belmont, Bradley, Creighton, Drake, Eastern Illinois, Eastern Kentucky, Evansville, Indiana State, Murray State, Rend Lake, Southern Illinois, SIU-Edwardsville and Western Illinois.
