Women's Golf Finishes Ninth at Indiana Invitational

Ball State's women's golf team, under the direction of head coach Katherine Mowat, finished in ninth place in the 16-team Indiana Invitational at the IU Golf Course.
The Cardinals managed a 312-305-294=911 in the tournament. Ball State, Eastern Michigan and Western Michigan were the three Mid-American Conference schools at the tournament. EMU managed a 904 and finished sixth, while WMU scored a 931 and placed 13th. Indiana won the tournament with an 886.
Brittany Kelly led the Cardinals with an eighth place finish in the 90-player field. Kelly tallied a 75-77-70=222.
Rachael Pruett tied for 15th after carding a 76-76-71=223. The third round 71 was a career low for Pruett, as was the 54-hole total of 223. Her previous bests were a 73 and a 232, which she had done three times.
Kristtini Cain managed a 78-77-77=232, Kirsty O'Connor scored an 83-75-76=234 and Katie Windlan tallied an 84-82-78=244.
Joining Ball State and the host Hoosiers at the tournament were Colorado, Eastern Michigan, Illinois, Illinois State, Indiana State, Iowa State, Iowa, Lipscomb, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri-Kansas City, Missouri State, Oakland and Western Michigan.
The IU Golf Course in Bloomington, Ind., played to a par 72 and at 6,142 yards.
This marked Ball State's final competition of the season prior to the MAC Championships, which will be April 23-25, at The Hawthorns Golf Club in Fishers, Ind.
