Junior forward Emily Maggert earned her 14th double-double of the season after chipping in 18 points and 13 rebounds. Senior forward Danielle Gratton was the only other Cardinal to reach double figures with 12 points.

Miami controlled the majority of the second half. The Cardinals trailed the RedHawks by ten (54-44) under the nine minute mark.
Ball State was held scoreless for several minutes until sophomore center Amber Crago hit a jumper in the lane with 7:52 on the clock to make it a 54-46 ball game. Maggert would then hit a layup soon after to make it a 54-48 contest but Miami rattled off seven straight points building a 61-48 cushion with 4:10 left in regulation.
After falling behind early in the first half the Cardinals managed to build an eight point edge (18-10) over the RedHawks with just over 11 minutes remaining.
Ball State led again by eight (24-16) before Miami went on a 6-0 run to come within two of the Cardinals late in the first half. With just 1:08 remaining Gratton knocked down a jumper to put Ball State up 33-30. Miami managed to hita three pointer in the last seconds to tie the game at the half.
Ball State will return to action Feb. 6, when the Cardinals host Bowling Green at Worthen Arena at 2:30 p.m. The game Saturday is part of a doubleheader with the men's basketball team which will tipoff at Noon.
