Field Hockey Falls to UC Davis, 3-2

At 1:09 mark, the Aggies' Nadia Namdari tallied the first goal of the day on an unassisted shot straight past the Cardinals' goalkeeper junior Chelsea Mitchell (Stevens, Pa./Cocalico). Teammate Marissa Hughes added to that performance with a goal off of a penalty stroke at 8:29 mark.
Ball State did not score until 27:27 mark, when Kuhn scored off of a penalty corner for her 12th goal of the season. Lulow, an exercise science major, provided the assist.
UC Davis returned the favor at 29:41, as Cloey LemMon recorded an unassisted goal on an empty net after Mitchell dove for the ball. Less than five minutes later, Lulow scored off of a penalty stroke for the last goal of the day.
Kuhn and junior forward Brittany Hammer (St. Louis, Mo./St. Joseph's) finished the contest with seven shots in total, while Lulow and senior forward Maura Sawicki (St. Louis, Mo./Nerinx Hall) each finished the contest with a defensive save. Sawicki also tallied three shots on the day.
Mitchell tallied four saves in 70:00 minutes of action, while UC Davis' Lauren Sawvelle recorded two in the cage.
Ball State returns to the BSU Turf Field Friday to host Ohio in a game scheduled for 3 p.m. and Sunday, Ball State hosts Kent State in the Cardinals' annual Think Pink game at 1 p.m.
