
McDonald Takes All-Time MAC Record In Three?s In Loss At EMU

For the game junior forward Emily Maggert managed her 11th double-double of the season after leading the Cardinals with 16 points and 11 rebounds. McDonald ended the night after chipping in 13 points including three from behind the arc. The Cardinals bench contributed 10 points for the contest.
With just under two minutes left in the game, McDonald knocked down her 281st three pointer breaking the all-time MAC record in three pointers made. Former Western Michigan Bronco Casey Rost (2001-06) held the old record at 280.
Ball State trailed Eastern Michigan the entire contest with the exception of a three ties. The Cardinals did rally back to come within eight 58-50 at the 1:24 mark in the second half.
The Cardinals trailed 9-3 in the opening minutes of the game. A 6-0 run by Ball State was sparked after junior guard Ty'Ronda Benning hit a layup. Sophomore guard Patrice King hit a jumper tying the game 14-14 with 11:09 remaining in the first half.
The Eagles continued to control the remainder of the first period. EMU would end the half up 32-26 over the Cardinals.
The Ball State University women's basketball team begins MAC East Divisional play on the road at Kent State Saturday with a 7 p.m. tipoff.
