Ball State's 2008-09 men's golf team has been named a Golf Coaches Association of America All-Academic Team for achieving a team grade-point average of 3.0 or better.
To be eligible for GCAA All-Academic Team honors a college or university must submit the grade points earned and hours attempted for each player on its official squad list for the academic year.
The Ball State men's golf team achieved a 3.223 GPA on Ball State's 4.0 scale.
"We take a great amount of pride in our academic success with the Ball State men's golf program," Ball State head coach Mike Fleck says. "It is great to be honored by the Golf Coaches Association of America, and nice to see the teams who have achieved success in the classroom be rewarded for their hard work."
The Cardinals were led academically by Ross Cosat, who owns a 3.478 GPA as a marketing and finance major at Ball State.
