Two Men's Golf Freshmen Advance to Final Eight

Joe Gasser (Yorktown, Ind./Yorktown H.S.) and Brodie Williams (Lapel, Ind./Lapel H.S.), both freshmen members of the Ball State University men's golf team advanced to the final eight in the Indiana Golf Association Boys State Junior being played at Purdue's Kampen Course before being eliminated.
Gasser managed a 74-69=143 in stroke play to advance to the final 32, which began a match play tournament. Gasser won his match play matches 2&1 and 5&3 before suffering a loss in the quarterfinals.
Williams tallied a 78-75=153 in stroke play to advance. He won his first two match play matches 5&3 and 9&7 before being eliminated in the quarterfinals.
