MUNCIE, Ind. ? Ball State men's basketball head coach Billy Taylor and football assistant coach/offensive coordinator Eddie Faulkner took part in the inaugural Dream Makers Day as part of Ball State's commitment to diversity. Thirteen local high school students met Ball State University employees June 18 to find out how a college education can help them pursue and achieve their dreams.
Minority students from Muncie Community Schools were encouraged to apply. The students spent the day touring campus, including learning about career opportunities associated with Scheumann Stadium, WIPB-TV, the David Letterman Communication and Media Building and Worthen Arena.
During the visit to WIPB-TV, coach Taylor conducted on-camera interviews with students about their career aspirations and other dreams. Coach Taylor also welcomed the students to Worthen Arena and took time to work with them on the court. Coach Faulkner gave the students a tour of Scheumann Stadium, including work on the field.
Gora recognized the students' participation in Dream Makers Day as well as honor their Ball State mentors. Students also will receive a variety of gifts and prizes, including scholarships provided by DeFur Voran LLP and Barnes and Noble, which operates the Ball State University Bookstore.
