Men's Golf Finishes Sixth at MAC Championships

Ball State's men's golf team, under the direction of head coach Mike Fleck, finished sixth out of nine teams at the 2009 Mid-American Conference Men's Golf Championships.
The Cardinals tallied a 307-302-285-293 at the event hosted by Ball State at the Brickyard Crossing Golf Course in Speedway, Ind. Kent State won the event with a 1136 team total to finish 19 strokes ahead of the second place Eastern Michigan Eagles.
Senior Brian Maurer was the Cardinals top golfer with a 76-76-68-72=292 to tie for 10th, and was selected to the All-MAC First Team by virtue of his season long accomplishments.
Sophomore Eric Steger fired a 76-76-71-73=296 to tie for 15th. Senior Andrew Rhodes tied for 21st with a 78-73-71-76=298. Sophomore Anthony Novak managed a 77-77-78-73=305, while junior Ross Cosat tallied a 78-79-75-75=307.
