
Men?s Basketball Signs Myron Green Jr.

MUNCIE, Ind. ? Ball State men's basketball head coach Billy Taylor announced the signing of Myron Green Jr. (Carson, Calif./Dominquez) to a national letter of intent Monday afternoon. Green will begin his Ball State career in the 2009-10 season and joins signees Huzie Hambrite (Indianapolis, Ind./Lake Land College/Northwest) and Jauwan Scaife (Muncie, Ind./Muncie Central) in this year's class.
Green Jr., a 6-4 guard/forward from Carson, Calif., was a four-year letterwinner and three-year starter at Dominquez High School. He averaged 15.5 points and 6.0 rebounds per game as a senior as he helped the Dons to a 26-7 record. He guided Dominquez to a semifinal appearance in the Toyota 2009 Southern Section Boys Basketball California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) Championships. He earned second team All-CIF honors as a junior and senior. He guided Dominquez to the Les Schwab Invitational championship in Portland, Oregon and was named to the All-Tournament team, Also, he helped the Dons win the MLK Holiday Hoopfest championship as a senior when it defeated nationally ranked and undefeated Rainier Beach (Wash.).
Also, Green Jr. helped the Dons to tournament championships at the Amare Stoudemire Invitational Classic (Fla.) and the MaxPreps Holiday Classic at Torrey Pines (Calif.). He is the son of Angela and Myron Green Sr.
“He has a fearless attitude on the court and is driven to be successful,” Taylor said. “He comes from a great family structure as his parents give him tremendous support and have led him to be a well-rounded individual. He is also an excellent student and will be a great fit into the Ball State basketball program.”
