Men's Golf at Michigan State Tournament Saturday and Sunday

Ball State University's men's golf team will compete in its final tournament of the season prior to hosting the Mid-American Conference Championships at the Brickyard Crossing Golf Course April 30-May 2. The Cardinals will be at the 10-team Fossum/Spartan Invitational at Forest Akers West Golf Course.
The tournament will feature 36 holes Saturday with the final 18 holes played Sunday. Live scoring for the event will be available at www.golfstat.com.
Michigan State is hosting the event and the host Spartans and Ball State will be joined by Binghamton, Cal State Bakersfield, Long Island, Northern Colorado, Ohio, Ohio Wesleyan, South Carolina Upstate and Waterloo. MSU enters the tournament ranked 37th in the nation, and leads the country with 78 percent of fairways hit on the year.
Ball State's lineup will include Brian Maurer, Andrew Rhodes, Ross Cosat, Eric Steger and Anthony Novak.
Maurer leads the team with a 73.45 average and has six top-20 and three top-10 finishes this season. Rhodes owns a 74.00 average with four top-20 and three top-10 placings on the year. Cosat has a 75.65 average, Steger is playing to a 74.34 average and Novak owns a 75.90 mark on the season.
