Women's Tennis Loses 4-3 At Home Against EMU

MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State University women's tennis team lost a close match Saturday afternoon at the Cardinal Creek Tennis Center when it fell 4-3 to Eastern Michigan. The Cardinals are now 5-11 overall and 0-5 in the Mid-American Conference.
The Eagles took the early edge after winning the doubles point. Ball State's No. 1 doubles tandem of freshman Dena Boulieris and sophomore Georgina Thomson captured an 8-7 (3) victory over Miriam Westerink and Joanna Woo. The Eagles would then post wins at the No. 2 and No. 3 spots before heading into singles play.
In singles action Ball State lost at No. 1, 2 and 3 but rebounded with wins at No. 4, 5 and 6. Sophomore Hayley Hall took down Woo, 6-2, 6-1. Freshman Hanna Oman defeated Marcela Rivero in three sets and sophomore Georgina Thomson was a 6-1, 6-1 winner over EMU's Rumbidzai Muskwe.
The Ball State University women's tennis team continues MAC action Friday at Bowling Green. The match will begin at 1 p.m.
