Men's Tennis Blanks Idaho State

BOISE, Idaho - The Ball State University men's tennis team improved its overall record to 9-7 after its 7-0 defeat over Idaho State Friday night. The Cardinals lost 4-3 to Memphis earlier in the day.

BSU swept doubles action winning all three to take the early 1-0 edge over Idaho State. Sophomore Eduardo Pavia alongside senior Jorge Rodriguez took down Javier Royo and Danel Barrenehea by a score of 8-4. Senior Jose Perdomo and teammate freshman Zane Smith earned an 8-6 victory over Alex Buceta and Ross Dechant. Freshmen duo Cliff Morrison and Derek Carpenter rounded out doubles play with a 8-1 defeat over Dan Buckingham and David Kutchins.

The Cardinals swept singles play winning all six of their matches. Pavia improved to 10-3 on the season with his win over Barrenechea at No. 2 singles. Perdomo, freshman Andres Monroy, Morrison, Rodriguez and Carpenter were all winners on the day.

The Ball State men's tennis team continues action at the Boise State Invitational Saturday.
