MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State University women's tennis team (3-2) captured a 7-0 victory over Valparaiso (1-5) Tuesday afternoon at the Muncie YMCA Tennis Center.
This is the Cardinals second back-to-back 7-0 defeat after defeating IUPUI last Thursday. Ball State got the early lead after winning the doubles point. Sophomore Georgina Thomson and freshman Dena Boulieris defeated Jenny Schwartz and Molly Keifer 8-4 at No. 1 doubles. BSU went on to earn wins at No. 2 and No. 3.
Ball State did not lose a set in singles action. Three of the Ball State freshmen improved their overall records to 4-1 on the season with their wins over Valpo. Sarah Hebble won at No. 1, Boulieris at No. 2 and Johnson rounded the freshmen out at No. 3.
The Ball State University women's tennis team will take on Murray State in Indianapolis Saturday at 1 p.m. The Cardinals return home Sunday against Bradley at the Muncie YMCA Tennis Center.
