OXFORD, Ohio - The Ball State soccer team closed out the 2009 season Thursday afternoon as the Cardinals dropped an 8-0 decision to Mid-American Conference rival Miami. The loss drops the Cardinals to 4-13-1 overall on the year and 2-8-1 in MAC play, while Miami improves to 10-7-1 overall and 6-4-1 in league play.
Miami opened the scoring early as it tallied five first half goals, including three in the first 20 minutes of play. The RedHawks had eight different players score in the victory as they out-shot the Cardinals by a 19-9 margin and held an 8-0 edge in corner kicks.
